Since the time she was in high school, Dr. Yagoda has always been active in community and public service. She co-organized the inception of and volunteered on the Wayne Youth First Aid Squad and was Co-Chairman of the One-to-One Foundation to help mentally retarded young adults become self-sufficient and live alone. She volunteered at Chilton Memorial Hospital taking care of premature infants and tutored students with learning difficulties in math and science. Dr. Yagoda is passionate about giving back to her community. She was recognized for this at a young age and was even awarded an American Legion Award for her community service efforts.
Throughout her professional career, Dr. Yagoda continues to serve her community. She is a committee member on the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery’s Face-to-Face: Domestic Violence Project, through which she provides complimentary facial plastic surgery to survivors of domestic abuse.
Dr. Yagoda donates her time and services to such organizations including Elizabeth Glazer—Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Planned Parenthood, The Hassenfeld Children’s Center at New York University, The Familial Dysautonomia Foundation, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy, The Special Olympics, Citymeals-on-Wheels, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Step Up Women’s Network and to students of professional voice.
Dr. Yagoda instructs medical students, interns, and residents in otolaryngology, voice, and facial plastic surgery. She provides emergency care to uninsured and underinsured adults and children and serves as a mentor to women in facial plastic surgery.
